Transnational Crimes - A Doctrinal and Jurisprudential Analysis
By
Paul Dougan and Anthony Amatrudo
Transnational crime may be the most significant social phenomenon of the late 20th
and early 21st centuries. This book examines the dramatically broadened scope of
transnational crime, due largely to the increasing ease of transportation across borders
and the facilitation of commerce and financial transactions via the Internet.
The book
helps to understand and predict the challenges of these emerging transnational crimes –
smuggling, trafficking in people, drug and other contraband, financial frauds, cybercrime,
money laundering and corruption of both business and government agencies. The author
looks into the perpetration of these crimes across national boundaries, which create
jurisdictional problems of enforcement and prosecution.
