The Hindu Succession Act, 1956
By
S. A. Kader
Delving deep into the various sources of Hindu Law, the author, a former Judge of the Madras High Court, records in the present work, the progressive modernisation of the Hindu Law since the Westminster took over the administration of our country in the second half of the 19th Century culminating, after India attained her independence in the mid-twentieth century, in the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, which according to the author is a violent departure from the past and refers to decided case-laws of the Supreme Court and the High Courts.
